A Soldier's Lie

This story that I tell is of a soldier's lie
A life of lives that this soldier tried to hide
The kind of life this man would try to leave behind
Until he faced the bullet eye to eye
Hes out in the desert in the firing line
Tracers lighting up in the midnight sky
A few stray bullets one through his thigh
A bullet with his name on gonna pierce his eye
STOP!!
In that split second when he should have died
The whole world froze and he got the chance to retry
Every little step and every crime
In the hope to prevent his end that is nigh
Hes taken back to a night in late July
Where he hears a woman scream its not my time
There's one man behind her and one either side
Demanding money from this woman else she would die
STOP!!
This time he springs into action instead of walking by
His army training comes in useful now he cant deny
That every little helps especially when you strive
Now this soldiers actions have kept the woman alive
Feeling happy with himself he starts to reside
Until the clock starts to spin the world in rewind
He wakes up near his home and hes at the road side
To find a little girl crossing is it her goodbye?
STOP!!
This time its a little different its like his path is entwined
Because hes looking at himself only just to find
That hes relaxing at the wheel with all his senses blind
On a course which will see young flesh and steel bind
There's only one way to save her and it must be tried
Once again he must be placed in the firing line
Racing at the girl running in full stride
To sacrifice himself this soldier had to die
